At Arizona State University, a college cricket search has two useful starting points: a cricket club listed on the university’s student-organization platform and cricket among the sports named by its intramural program.
For a student considering ASU, the next question is personal. Are you looking to compete for a club, develop your game or make cricket part of your social life? Then comes a practical question that matters at a university spread across several locations: where will you study, and where would you play?
What we verified: The club’s public profile, ASU’s official 2026–27 sport-club contact list, general sport-club participation guidance, its intramural listing and academic resources. A current cricket practice timetable, trial date, playing location and complete competition calendar were not verified. Contact the relevant program before registering or attending.
A cricket club with an official contact route
The Cricket Club at Arizona State University’s public profile describes a community intended to include different skill levels, with competitive cricket and connections between students as part of its purpose.
More concretely, the Sun Devil Fitness Sport Clubs page links an official 2026–27 contact list. Its cricket entry names Yashashwi Gautom as club president, lists asucricketclub@gmail.com and identifies the Instagram handle @cricketasu.
Ask which joining process applies to your intended term and whether newcomers can first speak with an officer or attend an introductory session. Include your intended campus, entry year, student status and cricket interests. The published contact is a starting point; it does not establish that a trial or intake is currently open.
Understand the club-sport requirements
ASU’s general sport-club guidance says participation is available to degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at least half-time: six credits for undergraduates and three for graduate students. It also says governing bodies may impose additional requirements.
The same guidance makes completing athlete registration a condition of participation and notes that some clubs require a minimum skill or fitness level for full participation. These are university-wide sport-club rules, rather than a cricket-specific selection policy.
Ask the cricket officers how registration, practice participation and match selection work together. A welcome for different skill levels does not mean every member automatically travels or plays in every fixture. Prospective students should also establish when they become eligible to take part.
There is an intramural route to investigate, too
ASU’s Intramural Sports page includes cricket among its activities and provides a route to its schedule and participation resources.
That gives a student who wants a more recreational experience another program to investigate. It does not confirm a cricket league is registering teams this week, or establish which campus, format or equipment applies.
Keep club inquiries and intramural inquiries separate. Ask about the experience you actually want, who can participate and whether individual players can find a team. The existence of one route should not be used to assume the arrangements of the other.
Match the campus to the cricket
ASU’s locations information describes four metropolitan Phoenix campuses, alongside other locations. Its Degree Search lets students examine programs by location, including Tempe, Downtown Phoenix, Polytechnic and West Valley.
For a student interested in cricket, that turns a broad college search into a concrete planning exercise. Identify where the intended degree is taught. Then ask the club where training and matches actually happen, how players get there and whether the arrangements work for students based at your location.
A Tempe contact address is not proof of a training ground or of access from every campus. We have not verified a current cricket venue, cross-campus transportation or participation rules for online students.
Explore the degree and the support around it
Use Degree Search to compare the requirements and location of the program that interests you. Look at the course sequence and the ordinary week it would create, then consider training, match days, travel and rest.
ASU’s academic-advising page directs undergraduates to advising by college and explains how enrolled students can find their advisor through My ASU. The Academic Support Network information describes tutoring and writing support available in person and online.
These are general student resources. We have not verified special academic arrangements for club cricketers. A useful conversation with an advisor concerns the actual course requirements; a useful conversation with the club concerns the actual cricket commitment.
Some students will want to push their competitive cricket further. Others will value a regular game and new friendships. Both should ask enough questions to understand whether their intended course and preferred playing experience fit together.
Questions to ask before your first session
- Current activity: Which cricket practices, introductory sessions or competitions are confirmed for this term?
- Eligibility: What university registration and competition requirements apply to your student status?
- Location: Where do sessions take place, and what should a student based at your campus allow for travel?
- Experience: What is available for beginners, developing players, recreational players and women?
- Selection: How are match squads chosen, and what participation is available outside those squads?
- Intramurals: Is cricket currently scheduled, and how can an individual or group take part?
When we checked, the club profile displayed no upcoming events. That leaves event dates unconfirmed; it does not establish that the club is inactive. Use the official contacts and schedule routes to obtain current information.
A college shortlist with room for your game
Arizona State provides enough official information to begin a useful conversation about continuing cricket. The strongest next step is to connect the university listing to your own plans: the degree, campus, kind of cricket and commitment you want.
